IEA says Russian gas sales to Europe can fall to 20–25 bcm in 2023

MOSCOW, Oct 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gas sales to Europe reached almost 140 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2021, halved in 2022, and can decrease by around 65% to 20–25 bcm in 2023, the International Energy Agency said in a report on Tuesday.

A gas transit contract between Russia and Ukraine will expire at the end of 2024, after which Russia’s pipeline gas will be sent to Europe only through one of the strings of the TurkStream gas pipeline with a capacity of 15.75 bcm annually, the agency said.
